Video on Demand From A Business Internet Service

The chief business internet service is now offering the new revolution of Video on Demand. The company known as Facebook is starting out with its first time at having this service available. There are still other companies out there that are in the competition for offering this particular service as well.

Many different things can be done with the use of Video on Demand in the business world and in the life outside of that. Just watching movies is one way, but there are benefits that come along with this one that you may not be aware of. You will be able to not only watch movies, but stream them straight from the internet whenever it is convenient for you. There are also quite a number of movies that are going to be available so there is always something to watch.

Consider that there is a growing rate of people that are constantly watching movies through a digital source. This is just another way to increase the number of people that are watching or those that have considered watching movies in this form. With so many more people viewing these movies online, it is easy to see why Video on Demand is great through the finest business internet service. The best part is that this number is growing with each passing year and the outlook is good for it continuing to grow in the future.

In order to view all the movies that you want online, you will have to consider one other factor before you start this. The bandwidth is an important part of being able to view the movies you want, when you want them and you need to make sure that you have enough. You may need to increase the bandwidth, depending upon how often you plan on watching movies. There are various companies that offer plenty of bandwidth, but check on pricing in your area.

Many sites are already taking advantage of this digital boost in the technological world. Websites like Facebook already have a very large fan base and offering this service will increase that. People will become curious about certain companies that have Video on Demand available and that will lead to more traffic. Having enough people become curious is going to start the interest in gaining this service.

One concern that has been brought up would be dealing with connecting computers to the television. This is something that is constantly being worked on in the developing stages to change. Once televisions that are already connected to the internet make their debut, it will be much easier to overlook this. In the meantime, this connection idea is the only matter that may come up.

Looking over all that Video on Demand has to offer, you can easily see why this service is chosen over and over again. With the technology constantly growing and tearing down boundaries, it makes for another advancement that people crave. Through the first-class business internet service, companies are going to experience quality, fast service, and convenience of Video on Demand.

Canvas Printing Online

If you're interested in a way to fill your home with more art and a splash of personality, canvas prints can make an excellent addition. Photographs and art stretched over a canvas make interesting pieces of art that look great in any room of a home. Understanding how canvas prints are made with the use of online printing software should help get you started with this investment. With the help of an online software program, you can create a canvas printed with a photograph or unique painting. Understanding the options and how canvas prints can look in your home should help you create exciting new art for your home.

The Appeal of Art Printed onto a Canvas

When interested in hanging new art in your home, it's easy to see why canvas printing can seem like the ideal option. There is no need for a frame when you take advantage of the clean canvas design. The picture is wrapped around the canvas, and the back of the picture can easily hang up with the use of a nail. With no frame necessary, the cost of canvas prints is typically quite low and create a clean and effortlessly stylish piece of art.

Customizing Your Canvas Print

With so many different options for how a canvas piece of art can look, it is really up for you to customize. Whether you decide to use a formal photograph of your family, a fun print of a pet, or a landscape, the canvas will still look great. Online software programs make it easy for you to select a photograph from your computer and upload it onto their website for ordering.

You will be able to preview the product with the photo graph wrapped around the canvas before purchasing. It's important that you choose an image with high resolution (the more pixels, the better) so that it comes out clear and with the quality you're searching for. Online printing software should alert you if there are any problems with the photo you have chosen before checkout to make ordering as simple as possible.

Types of Photographs Ideals

If you want the very best canvas art for the money, you should consider the colors and subjects of different photographs. In order for the canvas to have the best overall look, you should select a photo where the sides will not look awkward due to the wrapping. This often means selecting a photo where the subject is displayed clearly in the center. Choosing colors that will complement the existing colors and style of a room will ensure that the canvas will be a perfect fit.

Ordering a canvas print with the use of online software is a fantastic way to create a fully customized piece of art. Taking the time to consider different photographs that would look great wrapped around a canvas should help ensure that the final result looks perfect for your home. Online software programs make ordering the print and revising any issues before ordering breeze. 5 Top Ways to Make Money Online

If you are looking for some of the top ways to make money online, your search should end here as this article will cover not one but five of them. By the end of this article, you will know how you can make money online using affiliate marketing, blogging, small niche websites, information products and finally your hobbies. If done correctly, these methods can help you create a successful and sustainable long term online business.

1. Earning Big Bucks with Affiliate Marketing

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Marketing other people's or other companies' products or services in exchange for a commission based on the sale value is called Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate marketing is a great way to get started for people who don't have a product or service of their own to sell. Unlike the companies' whose products the affiliate sells, the affiliate doesn't have any overhead like maintaining an inventory of products, dealing with the shipping of products or worrying about after sales service and refunds of products.

All the affiliate needs to do is attract and send traffic to the merchant's website. A certain percentage of the traffic you send to the merchant's website will end up buying products there for which you receive an instant commission. The percentage of traffic that makes a purchase (known as the conversion rate) would depend on the quality of the product and the website.

Most companies offer an affiliate program via a third party known as an Affiliate Network. The Affiliate network acts as the intermediary between the merchant and the affiliate to ensure that sales are properly tracked and that affiliates get paid on time.

How Can You Make Money with Affiliate Marketing?

If you already have a website that attracts regular traffic, you can look for products related to your website topics. If your website is about physical products, you might benefit from joining Amazon's or Ebay's affiliate program to promote their huge inventory of products. If your website is about informational topics, you might find a suitable product to promote at Clickbank which is the largest online market place for digital products.

However, if you don't have an established website, you might want to set one up to start affiliate marketing. An alternative to this would be to purchase advertisements on websites and Ad networks and send the traffic directly to the merchant's website.

2. Earning Money Online with Blogging

What Is Blogging?

Blogging is nothing but publishing information using a blogging setup like Wordpress, Blogspot or something similar. The beauty of blogging is that you don't need any technical or programming knowledge to be able to start doing it. If you have information or ideas that you think other would find interesting or helpful and if you'd like to share these ideas, you can use any free or paid blogging platform to start your blogging venture.

How Can You Make Money by Blogging?

Blogging is one of the top ways to make money online given the simplicity of the setup and low barrier to entry. You can start your own blog on a free platform like Wordpress or Blogspot or you could set your own blogging site up by purchasing a domain name and web hosting. Either way, once the setup is complete, you can start publishing your ideas and information right away.

Depending on the quality of the content you publish on your blog, you can attract an attractive amount of traffic which you can later monetize. The most common method for bloggers to earn money is by placing ads on their website. These ads can be from an ad network like Google Adsense or these could be ads for products that pay out an affiliate commission. Depending on the topic of your blog you might want to choose one of these methods or both methods to start making money.

3. Making it Big with Small Niche Websites

What are Small Niche Websites?

Small niche websites are websites whose content is tightly focused on a single topic and another one of the top ways to make money online. The intention with these websites is to become such a strong online authority on a single traffic that it attracts most of the free traffic from search engines like Google and Bing. The small niche websites can be focused on informational topics or around products in a particular niche. However, the key to a good and successful niche website is the focus of all the content on a single topic.

How Can You Make Money with Small Niche Websites?

Because small niche websites grow to become authoritative sites for the topic that they are focusing on, they attract a lot of free traffic from search engines like Google and Bing. There are many ways in which this free traffic can be monetized. Placing ads on the website, promoting products that pay out an affiliate commission or building an email list of your visitors are all solid and proven ways to monetize a small niche website.

4. Hit the Jackpot by Selling Information Products

What do You Mean by Selling Information Products?

It may sound clichéd but it is true that we are living in an information age. And information hasn't ever been available as easily as it has been since the advent of the Internet. It has become equally easy for anyone to put out any information out there without the need to verify its authenticity. This has created a situation where it is very difficult to judge whether a particular piece of information is good or bogus.

There are a lot of very specific topics for which good and reliable information isn't readily available. These are topics that people are willing to pay good money for. For example, if you can help people by sharing a home remedy for a common health problem, they'd gladly pay you money for alleviating their pain. If you have information that could help someone excel in their profession, they wouldn't mind shelling out large sums of money.

How Can You Make Money by Selling Information Products?

If you can create such an information product, then you can increase your odds of setting up a successful online business. In fact, selling information products is one of the top ways to make money online. You don't even have to know anything about the topic that you are selling the product on. You do, however, have to ensure that the information in the product is accurate and that it comes from a reliable source.

You can source the information for your product from a professional in that field to ensure its accuracy and effectiveness. You can make use of affiliate networks and affiliate programs to attract an army of affiliate who would be willing to promote your product in exchange for a commission. In fact, once you have the sales system and the product delivery mechanism set up, there is no other cost involved in the future apart from the domain name and hosting costs. This creates a business that pays for itself and keeps producing profits without any additional effort.

5. Monetize Your Hobbies

There are a couple of ways that you can make money using your hobbies. However, you need have realistic expectations while doing this. It would only be possible for you to make money doing what you like if you could put out interesting content related to your hobby and if there are enough people who would find this content and your hobby interesting.

However, if there are enough people with the same hobby as yours, then you stand an excellent chance of earning some decent money. You can publish a blog or create interesting videos that can help hobbyists learn something new or get better at their hobby. Because hobbyists tend to be very passionate about their hobbies, there is a good chance that you could attract a very loyal following.

Depending on your hobby, you could even start a consulting service which would allow people to benefit from your expertise by paying you a consultation fee. For instance, if you are passionate about building airplane models, you could help a lot of people with the same hobby get started. You could even help them save money by recommending the best and cheapest places to buy materials and parts from to build these models.

Regardless of which method you choose to start making money online, it is important that you stick with it long enough and with enough dedication and determination to let it show you results. After all, it doesn't matter which method you choose. If you are going to give up on it in a couple of days or a week, there isn't a lot of chance that it'll be successful. So be prepared to put in the hard word once you have decided on the method to help you make money online.

10 Ways to an Effective Website

1. Plan your website well.

Creating a website entails not only hours of planning but brainstorming from web designers, developers and content experts. From here, you could make expectations from your content to the overall appearance and usability of your own website.

2. Know your users/website visitors

One of the reasons why you are making a site is for people to visit your website. Though this is the rough draft that you have in mind, you have to make a concrete target readership, audience or market (if you are selling anything online). You would want the keywords to be directed on your specific market so that you could maximize the use of the Search Engines.

3. Think about web usability.

What is the purpose of your site if people can't navigate through it? Before you make your website, you need to think about your user's perspective. How users navigate your website. Aesthetic design of the website is just one aspect of building a website. Talking with your website developer about making your website usable, accessible and useful is important in building an effective website.

4. Structure or re-structure your website architecture and target audience.

Aside from usability, you need to be flexible in terms of your website's overall look and architecture. Having an open mind with site updates and accepting website changes allow your site to progress with technology and give your users a fresh look. You may change not only your background but even your theme and overall design.

5. Test your website speed.

Website visitors can become impatient when a site takes a long time to load. Search engines take page load time seriously as it reflects how quickly a site responds to web request. Checking your website's speed constantly is important to prevent people from switching to other sites. If you are selling online, it is important that you check this frequently in order to prevent losing potential income.

6. Make use of SEO. How do people find you?

SEO is an acronym of "search engine optimization" or "search engine optimizer". Business owners may learn some basic SEO on their own but can take a lot of their time. Thus, hiring an SEO to optimize your website is recommended for business owners that don't have a department to utilize it. Deciding to hire an SEO is crucial and may need some research as it can potentially harm your web business and sometimes, damage your website reputation with search engines. It is important to ask your website designer or developer how they utilize SEO in web design before even starting a new website or re-designing your site. Read Google's Guidelines to SEO >> | Read Google Basics - How Google Crawls, Indexes and serves the web

7. Get social. Use your social connections and add to your website

Since everyone these days are getting a following not only through email but also through social networking sites, it is important that you make use of Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and many other social sites that function mainly for modern day communication and online interaction. Using social media cannot bring you income to your business right away, but it will open a communication between you and your customers.

8. Make interactions or get people involved.

One of the best ways to get a reaction is by triggering one. You need to make sure that you use the Facebook to get a poll on how they want your product or basically anything under the sun. You may even give away products by creating an online campaign to get people to know your site.

9. Make call to actions clear.

It is important that you are relaying your message clearly to the other party. For instance, if you have discounts and you want them to buy certain products with discounts; you need to clarify which items are covered by the said discount. This way, you don't increase confusion on the part of the buyers.

10. Monitor, Measure and Improve.

Monitoring the website's traffic is one of the most ignored marketing tools by most business owners. Having the knowledge of your website's visitors is vital in online marketing. Using traffic analytics, you will be able to know your visitor's demographics and how did they came to your site. Measuring your website's traffic will help you recognize the keywords that are used and determine if your target market is met. Last but not the least, once you have taken the measures in monitoring and measuring your website's traffic, continue to improve your website's visibility with relevant back links, updating your website with new content at least 3 times a month and interact in your social pages.

3 Steps to an Online Business From Your Hobby

Everyone in the world has a hobby. Mine is dancing. One of my friends paints little Dungeons & Dragons models. Another flies model aeroplanes. Another friend works on his 1960's car. Everyone has a unique passion.

Why not turn that passion into an online business?

You might not think that you have the skills to do it. You may think that you don't have the tools to do it.

Well, you are wrong.

More than anything else, people will pay for their passions. In fact, I have flown across the world and back in a single day to attend a dance event. Is that silly? Indeed it is. Do I do it regularly?

Definitely.

All it takes is for you to create the market place, and people that are as passionate about your hobby as you are will come.

And they will buy.

If you have ever had the thought of creating your own business from your hobby, here it is in 3 simple steps.

STEP ONE - FINDING YOUR MARKET
So, you're a passionate Giraffe Painter. Fantastic! Surely there must be others like you! Well, let's find out. If you are the only person in the world that loves the look of a giraffe on canvas, when it comes to building an online business about it, you may be in some trouble.

But most of the time, you're not.

First thing you want to do is get as specific as possible about your hobby. So you love giraffes, let's jump onto Google's Keyword Tool and see what comes up when we do a Keyword Analysis.

Amazingly, we get these results:

Giraffe Painting - 2,900 monthly global searches - Low Competition
How to Paint a Giraffe - 1,600 monthly global searches - Low Competition

So, obviously there are a lot of people that love giraffes on canvas! What do you do now?

You create a product to sell to these people!

Let's back up just one little step. Do you notice how specific Giraffe Painting is? We are not trying to sell "Painting", we are trying to sell "Giraffe Painting". If we were to try and take on the painting market, we would be quickly overwhelmed with competition. But, because we were so specific, we can find something that has little competition, and everyone that is searching for "Giraffe Painting", they are definitely there looking for how to paint portraits. You have an instant, highly targeted market.

And that is crucial!

STEP TWO - CREATING YOUR PRODUCT
Let's look at the options when it comes to Giraffe Painting in terms of what we can sell. Obviously we can paint up a giraffe and sell that painting. However, is that leveraging our time so that we are free from work?

No!

What that is doing is creating more work for us! With every sale we make, we need to paint another Giraffe! You may want to do that, and that is fine, but there can be another way.

If you love painting giraffes that much, you can skip ahead to step 3.

The 2nd option that pops into my head would be to sell Giraffe Painting Kits. You include the paint, the canvas and all the materials needed to create the perfect painting of a giraffe. This is great!

Now, bear in mind that you are going to have to handle manufacturing, packaging, shipping, returns, just to name a few of the aspects of this business you will need to be aware of and handle to make this business a success.

Is there a simpler way?

Yes, how about an informational product? An ebook titled "How to Draw a Giraffe". It is digital and instant delivery, plus you can set up the website so that you never need to have a single step in the process except for answering customer queries! People will pay for information. You know from the keywords search that 1,600 people every month are searching for "How to Draw a Giraffe", so do you think you could sell a few of those on an eBook that is all about that?

Of course you could!

So you have three different products (or ways of creating products) that you can apply to any hobby.

You can be paid to do your hobby (painting giraffes), you can sell a how-to kit based on your hobby (or selling different aspects of the hobby, like unpainted D&D models, or Monopoly money for people that have lost theirs), or the third way is to create an informational product based on your hobby.

Are there different ways to monetize your hobby? Of course!

Get creative and come up with your own unique way!

Now, to actually sell those products.

STEP THREE - SELLING ONLINE
This is a simple step. Get a website and sell your product.

There are a million ways of getting a website up, including hiring a professional such as myself, or you can find free website creators online just by Googling them.

Why would you hire someone, rather than do it yourself? Well, the first thing of course is time.

The whole point of creating an online business is to free up your own time, and if you have never built a website before expect it to take a while (particularly if you don't know what you are doing).

The second and most important reason is that a professional knows how to make your product sell.

I'm not talking about just any web designer here, I'm talking about someone like us at Scott Creative who knows Internet Business and can actually create a website that will get bigger results for you than your own website could.

Now if you are doing it yourself, here's one formula to keep in mind:

1 Website = 1 Product Don't try to get every product you can think of onto your website. Keep it simple. "HowToPaintGiraffes.com" sells an eBook on How to Paint Giraffes. Nothing else. Make it easy for people to find. Give them as much content as you can for free, then sell them the product.

Don't make the mistake of trying to sell someone on a product without any knowledge of what it is and what they can expect.

So there you have it.

If you can make money selling eBooks on how to paint giraffes (quick tip: I made this up - except for the Keyword results, so if you are an artist, maybe this could be your 1st eBook), you can make money selling anything.

Get out there, get your online business started and get the freedom you want from your life!

Computer Business Basics Part 1

Now starting at the beginning, you know how to turn on your computer and to search for a topic on Google. Do you know how to make sure your computer is free of viruses? Do you know what antivirus program to get or how to download it? Do you add a computer care system or not? How often do you delete your browsing history and the cookies that they use? The answers to these questions would be your personal preference as everyone has their own idea on what works and how well it works. But if you don't have a preference yet, just go to you tube and type in antivirus programs and/or care programs for your computer and you will find videos to help make your decision. Also if you have a virus or malware on your computer put your computer back to factory defaults after you back up the files that you want. Go to YouTube for instructions on where and how to back your computer files.

I would suggest you back up your files whenever you add something new. This could be a new video or new pictures or anything you don't want to lose. So this is the basics of your computer care, which I firmly believe is a personal choice, so now we will move on to other skills. Now there are people around the world that use internet explorer for a browser. This is not a bad thing, it is just that there are simpler browsers to use and the best one in my opinion to use is Mozilla Firefox. You can keep frequently websites nicely organized and bookmarked. You can click on the plus sign for more tabs so you can see more than one website at a time and you can click between sites as many times as you want. Google Chrome is another browser that will make things easier for you in your business endeavors. Also when you are in the browsers you can click on a web address and sometimes it will open in a new tab automatically. Also some browsers will remember your username and passwords at the different websites that you visit frequently.

But of course as with all things it will be your personal choice what browser you use. Another feature of the chrome and Firefox features is that there is under tools an entry that says clear recent history. When you click on this entry your browsing history is deleted, cookies and all.

Basically you want to talk to people who are more computer savvy than you or you want to do a lot of research on you tube for the best computer care skills for you and your computer, because at the end of the day if your computer doesn't work properly for you then something is not working on your computer the way it is supposed to. This will need to be fixed because you need a reliable working computer to keep going forward in your business and if your computer is not working, you are not making money.

STOP! Do THIS If You Want to Earn $1000 a Week (The Real Secret to Financial Freedom Online)

What would your online marketing business look like if you could PREDICT how much you were going to make each and every week?

What would your business feel like if you didn't have to rely on gimmicks, gurus, gadgets or "push button profits" product launch scams to earn what you are truly worth?

Imagine being able to say GOODBYE to the "heavy lifting" that is affiliate marketing, or relying on having to sell products, programs and services to your list that you know in your gut aren't going to work as well as advertised?

The truth is...

If you are frustrated with your online business, and sick and tired of the long hours for diminishing returns, and crave a BETTER way... this short article was written with YOU in mind.

I want to share with you what I believe is the absolute EASIEST way to make money online, and to build a viable, valuable and enduring online business that grows with you over time.

First - the BIGGEST reason most marketers fail online is NOT a lack of information, or the know how on how to parlay their passion into profit. Instead, it's the online culture that tells you that the easiest way to succeed is to sell OTHER people on the same information you just learned from someone else. Or, to try and apply what you just learned in some obscure niche... with some obscure and overhyped product that simply is NOT going to sell enough to make you rich (or most likely, earn you anything at all).

There IS a better way.

The secret is simple: STOP focusing on selling products and services to everyday people... and START selling assets (and opportunities) to professionals who are local to you, and looking for a competitive advantage in YOUR community.

The truth is, it's INFINITELY easier to sell a $997 website to a local accountant, doctor, lawyer, landscaper, psychic reader or yoga teacher than it is to sell ONE $97 eBook to a random blog reader or web visitor.

More importantly... it's also much easier to build back end, high value (and high dollar) services and offers once you've earned someone as a customer or client in the first place.

For example - do you think a local attorney who buys a blog you built might also be interested in having you create content for him (or her) every month in the future?

Or they may also be interested in SEO, or strategy sessions, or list building advice, or newsletter creation or any of the other cacophony of creative services you can offer someone who has already purchased one of your products?

1 simple site "sale" per week can earn you $1000.

And that is really just the beginning, as you can truly offer "back end" services that enhance your ability to deliver value, while enhancing your own profit per sale at the same time (about 35% of your first time buyers will buy more from you in 12 months if you are simply "average").

Do you think it's not FAR easier to get referrals and new clients in your local community than it is to get the same from a random audience online?

The truth is, in my own business....when it comes to bankable income, the difference between focusing on local professional "talent" who needs real help, and just offering "online marketing" advice to the masses is night and day.

You CAN build one hyper local, hyper targeted blog or website in 2 or 3 days that has real value to a local professional in your community and sell it for $997 or MORE with ease.

The hard cost to "launch" that website from scratch? Less than $50 (and that includes hosting, domain name a blog and a premium template).

If each client you build one of these for spends a few hundred dollars a month with you in on going content or consultation, you only need about 20 clients to earn $75- 100K your first year in business (really easy, and that doesn't include the avalanche of other monetization opportunities we won't have space to cover here).

You CAN do this. And if you look at it reasonably, it's a much better idea than 99% of what is being offered in most eBooks, high pressure product launches and top secret "clubs". If you have PASSION for online marketing, and are struggling for a success strategy that WORKS, I challenge you to try THIS one next. (and last!)

How to Make Money Online - My Methods

As you might have noticed there are several ways to make money online, but which method is the most effective and which one should you choose? This article will give you an overview and tell you about the methods I have tested and later I will give you more detailed articles on each method.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is by many considered as the easiest way to make money online. To explain it the very simple and easy way affiliate marketing is getting paid a commission from sales of a product made by traffic you drive to the offer. The promotion can be done on your blog/website or other places online such as classified ads, YouTube, Facebook and places like that. Affiliate marketing does not require that you have your own domain or website at all and for that reason it is considered easy. What I have noticed is that driving traffic can be very hard and competition makes it a lot harder than it sounds.

Blogging

There are several ways to make money from a blog. The most common ways to do it is showing ads on your blog or review products that you get paid for from the manufacturer. Lots of bloggers make a great living from their blog, but it takes some time before the traffic and money comes your way. Patience is a key when it comes to blogging, be consistent and give value to your readers and establish yourself as an authority. Increase credibility over time and readers will trust you.

Write a Book and Self Publish

This is actually my favourite when it comes to passive income. The books that I once wrote and published makes me money over and over. If you like to make a passive income I will recommend this method. I know that this is hard for many persons, but remember that the worlds worst book is yet to be written.

Trading

Trading is a great and funny way to make a living online. To me it sounded a bit scary to begin with, but it's all about  stepping out of the comfort zone and learning something new. I found this to be one of the fastest ways to make money with my computer.

Translating and Proofreading

If you happen to have the required skills in two or more different languages, translating is a nice way to make a living. I have been translating and proofreading for different companies and really like this kind of working. Money is not great, but it sure is better than nothing. This kind of work is pretty similar to any offline job where you trade time for money.

As you see I have different ways to make money online that I can relate on. My reason for doing different things is that I have several sources of income and if one of them fail, my income will not stop. Most of the methods I have mentioned in this article requires hard work and to those of you who think there is a magic button to push, I am very sorry.

Do what you always did and get what you always got, or step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Why Time Tracking Is Important for Your Business Optimization

I hear it a lot: "I can't believe you work only 25 hours a week and get so much done. It's impossible."

No it's not. I am just very productive with my time.  And if you want to optimize your business, you can too.

First ask yourself: what percentage of your work time is spent on productive activities and what percentage of time is spent on interruptions, distractions, time at the 'virtual water cooler' and so on?

Most people drastically overestimate how productive they are. In fact, some studies show that as much as half of the time you think you are working on your business is spent on non-productive activities.

How can you improve your productivity? By tracking your hours and examining your daily schedule. Here's how:

1) Keep a Work Diary for One Week
For one week, keep a diary that tracks exactly when you're doing what at work. Make sure to write down when you start actually doing work, as well as when you start doing something else, like checking Facebook or going to the restroom.

Your journal entries might look something like this:

12:15 - Started Work
12:31 - Bathroom
12:36 - Started Work
12:52 - Check Email

Anytime you do anything that isn't strictly productive, write it down. Whenever someone interrupts you or asks you a question, write that down as well.

2) What's Your Productive Time?
What percentage of your time is actually spent on productive activities? What percentage isn't?

Once you have your one week journal finished, you'll have an immense amount of data at your fingertips. You'll be able to identify what your most common distractions are. That will go a long way towards helping you improve your efficiency.

3) Come Up with Productivity Policies

Once you know what's preventing you from being productive, the next step is to come up with policies that keep you on track.

Let's say that one major reason you aren't being productive is because of interruptions and distractions. Every 15 minutes or so,  one of your kids comes by your desk and breaks your concentration. That makes it hard for you to get anything done.

You might combat this by instituting a "no interruptions" policy. Put a note on your door that says "No Interruptions."

Alternatively, if you find that you spend 10 minutes every hour checking email, you might decide to only check email twice a day: once at the beginning of the day and once at the end.

Identifying your biggest barriers to productivity is the first step to overcoming those barriers.

4) Schedule Blocks of Work Time

One of the most effective ways to increase productivity is to schedule in blocks of work time. This is time that's spent purely on work and nothing else. No distractions, no Facebook or Pinterest- just work.

When you tracked your hours, you most likely realized how much time is spent on distracting activities. These work time blocks are just the opposite: solid work time with zero distractions.

If you follow these steps and improve your daily schedule, you can easily improve your productivity by 30%, 50% or in some cases even 100%!

5 Tips to Blogging Successfully

For most small business owners in search of tips to blogging, it all starts when somebody says to them, "you have to start a blog." Whether or not a blog is a necessity for every solo-entrepreneur or small business owner can be debated extensively. However, blogging is undeniably one of the most cost-effective methods you have at your disposal for reaching new customers, keeping in touch with clients, or for turning a prospect into a client. But for many, the entire concept of blogging is a mystery, another task on an endless business-owner's "to-do" list, or at the very least: a huge drag.

But blogging doesn't have to suck.
If you approach blogging the right way, it can be simple and extremely satisfying as a creative outlet for you and a lead-generating machine for your business. These 5 tips to blogging are designed to make blogging simple, fast, effective and fun! Plus, they will help you overcome the 2 biggest causes of blog fatigue: coming up with new ideas and finding the time to just put out a valuable blog post regularly.

Blog From the Heart.
This is one of the top tips to blogging that I can give you: follow your passion, in life AND in blogging. Ideally, your business is something you are passionate about. If your business is a yoga studio, your blog should be about yoga and topics of interest to yoga practitioners. The idea is to attract readers who are also interested in yoga and could become your clients. You know an incredible amount about this topic, and you feel a burning desire to share this information and educate your fellow humans. So far so good! All that's left to do now is start sharing - one simple blog post at a time.

Sit down for 30 minutes with a blank piece of paper and just start brainstorming. You will be amazed by the number of potential blog topics you can come up with! Remember to keep it simple and don't try to tell them everything in one blog post. Chop up your knowledge into bite-sized pieces and you will have more blog topics than you could write in a year. Plus, you will enjoy sharing your passion and eventually building a community of like-minded followers. This will go a long way in keeping you motivated on those days that you just don't feel like writing.

Be Consistent.
If you pay attention to one tip for blogging, make it this one. New bloggers always ask me how often they should post a new blog on their website. The answer is that there is no one correct answer to this question. Some bloggers post every day. Others are extremely successful with a weekly blog. It really depends on your topic and your overall goals for your blog. The most important tip to blogging here is to set up a realistic schedule for yourself that you can stick to. In my opinion, consistency is more important than quantity when it comes to cranking out blog posts. Once you start building your audience, they will depend on regular communication from you and will lose interest when they don't hear from you for a while. A regularly scheduled blog (even just once a week) is a great way to ensure that you are providing the right amount of valuable content to your audience, without driving yourself crazy.

Understand the Power of Keywords.
Although keywording is not a new tip to blogging, most people actually get this one wrong. Yet, understanding how keywords work, and using them correctly in your blog, can exponentially increase the reach, power and effectiveness of your blog. When keyworded correctly, each blog post is a tentacle, reaching out into cyber space and finding those who are searching for information about your topic. So for each blog post, you want to use a keyphrase for which people are searching and one that has as little "competition" as possible. There are lots of tools out there to help you with this. I like the Google Keyword Tool to see what phrase best matches my blog topic and has the greatest number of people searching. Then I just type my chosen phrase into Google (in quotes) to see how many responses come back (the competition). Although it could take several tries, eventually I come up with the perfect keyphrase that has a high search number, a low competition number and closely matches the topic I want to blog about. Once you've done this 50 times, you have quite a network of powerful tentacles (blog posts), drawing in your ideal customer with the valuable information they want.

Be Interactive.
This tip to blogging really captures a blog's unique ability to create a conversation between you and your community of potential clients. This is because of the "Comments" field found at the end of every blog post, the place that a reader can post a comment or question to be read by you and the rest of the readers, for answering and for further comment. The multi-way conversation generated by a blog is a valuable tool and you should try to take full advantage of it. The easiest, but often overlooked, way to do this is to simply ask for feedback. Post a direct question at the end of a blog post that invites readers to share their own experiences or viewpoints. Although it sounds simple, this method really does work. Not only do increased blog comments increase the value of your blog content in the eyes of search engines (a productive pursuit in itself), but this interactivity with your community will make you happy and further your commitment to blogging. Have you ever written an article and wondered if anyone was out there? With blogging, you won't have to wonder because your followers will make themselves known.

Re-purpose Content.
Of all the tips to blogging that I've ever given anyone, this one is my favorite. This tip makes blogging efficient and exploits a blog's reach beyond the limits of your website, and it's simple. The idea is to take an article you have already written and turn it into a blog post or to take a blog post and turn it into an article. The key is distribution. The more places your content shows up, the more it will be seen and the bigger your reach becomes. Plus, if you already have some existing newsletter articles or published print articles, these will easily translate to blog posts, which could potentially keep you in new posts for weeks or months. No more worrying about coming up with new ideas when you've got a whole list waiting to be written.
