I want to start this off with a quick confession........

As of this morning I've personally written WELL over 6000 unique articles in a plethora of pen names and a myriad of markets that have generated many MILLIONS of readers, subscribers and visitors in more niches than I can count. I've also managed a business that has generated numbers that make my own personal content contributions look small.

And....with all of that being true, I've had MORE proportional success (and am FAR more excited about today) about another angle to the online marketing opportunity that is FAR less competitive than the above.

It's ideal for work at home mom's, for busy executives with full time jobs and people JUST getting started in the online marketing space and DON'T want to waste the next 5 years of your life chasing gurus, gadgets and gimmicks that WON'T work, and will sap your spirit and empty your enthusiasm faster than anything else.

The business model I'd love to see everyone reading this adapt is taking your "niche" knowledge to your LOCAL community and parlaying your passion for online marketing into profiting with LOCAL professionals who need your help.

The truth is, EVERY city has tens of thousands of real people, with real businesses, right now, who are LOSING major marketing momentum (and money) every month by not having a powerful online presence.

They need content. They need strategy and structure to their marketing. They need blogs built. They need social media management. They need an email follow up sequence. They need SEO. (a misleading term I hate by the way....but I'll use it here anyway)

They often have REAL budgets set aside, and are spending them on REAL "professionals" who are doing a poor job of performing, and often know a heck of a lot less about what REALLY works than the average online marketing newbie with a few months of late night reading under their belt.

Let me give you a really quick but simple illustration of how powerful this could be for you...and why in many respects, I regret how I've built much of my OWN business to boot.

I have a pretty sizable list of online marketing enthusiasts who read my "stuff".

I appreciate each and every subscriber and member of my own community and am grateful for the attention and affection they offer me.

However....99% of them DON'T have money to spend on building their business. They want FREE information, are on a million different lists, crave "secret strategies" and push button profits.

In fairness...

Most have real jobs and aren't don't this full time, and can't afford to really invest in REAL business building tools, techniques and personal help. (and instead, will buy $27 eBooks forever....always searching for the next push button profit system to help them get rich from home)

The OFFLINE professionals who will read your stuff and respond to your offers are completely DIFFERENT.

They don't want to read your blog, or get free help, or learn how to stuff for themselves.

They WANT to PAY you for it.

And if you are really good at what you do, and have PASSION for what you put out in the world, "owning" a large segment of your local market is very easy to do, and in rapid fire turn around time as well.

If I could go back in time....it's the ONE thing I'd do differently in my own business. Rather than getting lost in the law of large numbers and the ego boost that offers, I would have gotten hyper focused where I live. (literally and metaphorically alike!)

It's where I'm focused today - and if you are smart, strategic and forward thinking (and still reading this far!) it's the absolute best business to be involved with in 2012, and for years to come! (and there is plenty of room for all)
